Kaler has extensive knowledge and over 1 billion dollars of project experience in sewer rehabilitation, asphalt repair, demolition, grading, and excavation. He received an Associates degree from Penn State University in Civil Engineering. He is also the chairman of the Long Term Improvement Advisory Board for the Sikh Religious Society of Chicago.
